How does reiki work?
Reiki is channeled through the hands. When you place your hands on your own body, or the body of another person for the purpose of healing, you connect with the universal life force. The wisdom of Reiki then goes to work to bring healing, balance and whatever is needed on a holistic level.
What happens in a session?
The initial session will take approximately 30 minutes for an introduction of myself, the client and Reiki. The duration of the “hands off” session is 45 minutes. This is followed by a 30 minutes post discussion and oracle card reading that includes past, present & future guidance.
Do you physically touch your clients during the session?
No. I place my hands roughly 10-20cm away from the chakra points to avoid any misunderstandings.
How often should I have reiki sessions?
I always say to let you intuition guide you. After your first session, you may or may not feel any changes and that is okay as everyone’s journey is completely different. It is only a recommendation to have at least three to four sessions to feel the maximum benefits of Reiki, as to how often is entirely up to you.
How can you prepare for a reiki session?
By raising your vibration!
These simple tasks will help raise your vibration so you can benefit more from the session. It will also help you post reiki session if you experience flu-like symptoms, including fever, runny nose, coughing, nausea, which is completely normal.
- Decrease the use of alcohol & caffeine
- Eat more fresh veggies & fruit
- Drink more water
- Move your body
- Write a gratitude list
This will also help you post reiki session if you experience any flu-like symptoms including: fever, runny nose, coughing, nausea, body aches, lethargic, which is completely normal. This is your body’s way of detoxing.
Does distant reiki healing really work?
Yes yes yes! According to the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which explains that everything is connected by energy. It works exactly like how an email or text message does. I, the sender, will send the message with energy waves and you, the receiver, will receive the energy at the other end, no mater where you are in the world or what time it may be. Funnily enough, I was attuned with Reiki 1, 2 & 3 by distance as I live in Dubai & my reiki master is based in Phuket, Thailand.
What can I expect to feel during the session?
Everyone is unique so your experience may be completely different to another. Physical sensations may include:
- Hot or cold sensation
- Tingling feeling
- Increase or decreased heart rate
- Slowed or fastened breath rate
- Crying or tears
- Rumbling stomach
- Twitching of the arms or legs
What is an attunement?
Unlike other healing arts, reiki is passed from reiki master to reiki student through a reiki attunement (initiation) that allows the student to connect to the universal life force. The attunement of reiki 1 allows you to be a channel to practice reiki on yourself and others face to face only. Level 2 reiki allows you to send reiki healing via distance.
