Never heard of the term Distance Reiki before? Thats okay, that’s why I’ve decided to write more about it for you to know how it works!
During Reiki 2 training, practitioners learn three Japanese symbols which include the “distance symbol.” When invoked, this symbol allows the practitioner to send healing Reiki energy across space & time, regardless of where you are in the world.. It still works.
Here’s an overview of how “distance Reiki” can be conducted and what to expect during a long-distance reiki session.
What distance Reiki is used for?
The distance symbol is used to cross any distance in time or space. It allows practitioners to clear blockages from someone’s past, as well as perform reiki on someone who is not physically present. Distance Reiki works according to the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which states that we are all connected, as we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole. Invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link up to the energy field of the recipient.
How distance Reiki sessions work
Distance Reiki can be sent to anyone, anywhere and at any time. Energy is limitless. Permission should always be received from the recipient. When I perform a Distance Reiki session, I visualize the recipient laying down on my Reiki table while I stand over them sending Reiki. Other practitioners may have other ways to perform their sessions with crystals for example.
My Reiki master primarily holds most of his sessions by distance so I was attuned with Reiki 1, 2 and 3/masters all by Distance. During the lockdown in March-April 2020, I felt that was the push for me to start practicing on recipients. The more I practiced, the more it became easier to set up energetic links to the people I was working with. After my Distance Reiki sessions, I would re-connect on ZOOM with the recipient and we would talk about the sensations, the thoughts, the colors they experienced.
We all have access to the life force energy, otherwise known as our chi, qi or prana, that flows through each and every being. Energy is everywhere. You know when you walk into a room and you feel like the energy is uncomfortable or pleasant? That is exactly how I sense within your chakras if one of them needs to be realigned.
Distance Reiki is a great alternative if you are not able to attend in person. You can be in the comfort of your home and will still receive the same amount of Reiki as you would in an in-person session.
